Pauillac 2016 Private Selection, Schroder & Schyler
Pauillac from 2016, which is one of the vintages people will still be talking about in twenty years. Under two hundred a case. The "Private Selection" label - Each wine in this range is a specially sourced "oneoff" bargain parcel from a single estate, selected for its high quality and generally from a famous classified growth. Given the special origin and nature of these wines they cannot always be followed from one vintage to another. Bordeaux Pauillac wines are rich and concentrated, full-bodied reds with grippy tannins, and characteristic notes of cassis, cedar and cigar box spice. Three of the five first-growths from the 1855 classification of the Médoc are situated in Pauillac: Lafite, Latour, and Mouton-Rothschild!! Ruby colour. shiny aspect. Charming nose dominated by violets, round and velvety on the palate with black fruit aromas. Silky and delightful. Delicate on the finish, tannins are ripe and rich. Long finish.
