St Sidoine Provence Rose 2024/25

The house Provence rose. Fifteen pounds a bottle, and the one I buy by the pallet for parties. PRODUCER; Saint Sidoine is a well-established co-operative that specialises in producing fine, focused Provence rosés with an emphasis on delicate, elegant fruit and minerality. The co-operative uses modern vinification techniques to create their wines. The soils in the region are poor and stony, resulting in low yields. Monsieur Camous, president of the co-operative, explains that the afternoon sea breeze helps to refresh the atmosphere and reduce heat stress on the vines. TASTING NOTE; Crisp and vibrant, with notes of fresh red berries, honeysuckle and watermelon intermingled with Provençal herbs like thyme and rosemary. A juicy burst of red fruits on the palate with a fresh lively finish. VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING; This rosé has been crafted from typical red grapes sourced from the sun-drenched Côtes de Provence. Machine-harvested. Made using the direct pressing method, where the grapes are lightly pressed to extract only a delicate pink hue into the juice for fermentation into wine. GRAPE VARIETIES; 36% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, 18% Carignan, 10% Mourvèdre, 6% Syrah
