Chateau Guibeau 2022, Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux

Organic Castillon from the family behind Chateau Guibeau, right next door to Saint-Emilion. One of the cheapest clarets I have in stock.

The Estate Château Guibeau is a family estate in its third generation, founded by Henri Bourlon and run today by Brigitte and Eric Destouet. The family is based in Puisseguin, and this wine comes from their 7 hectares across the border in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, the appellation that runs up against Saint-Émilion.

The Vineyard Clay and limestone, farmed organically and certified as such. The vines are mostly Merlot, with Cabernet Franc.

Tasting Note Deep cassis in colour, with fresh red fruit on the nose. Soft on entry, with plenty of fruit wrapped round the structure, and easy to like.
