Mytilus Albarino 2023, Adegas Pombal a Lanzada, Rias Baixas
Albarino from the Atlantic coast, grown a few miles from where the mussels come in. It goes with them for a reason. PRODUCER; Adegas Pombal a Lanzada is a small family-owned and operated winery drawing from two hectares of vines from some of the finest terroirs of Rías Baixas. The name derives from a long stretch of beach, which the winery overlooks called 'La Playa Lanzada'. The family has been growing grapes and producing wine from their vines for generations. All of the vines are cultivated organically and hand-harvested before undertaking fermentation in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. TASTING NOTE; Intense aromas of grapefruit and peach with notes of rose and aniseed. Powerful on the palate with a fresh acidity and saline finish. VITICULTURE & WINEMAKING; Hand-harvested. Vines between 10-70 years old. Vinification in stainless steel containers with commercial yeasts. Fermented for 10-15 days and then aged on lees for 3-4 months. No malolactic fermentation. GRAPE VARIETIES; 100% ALBARIÑO
