Côte de Beaune

A key wine-producing district of Burgundy in the east of France.

The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25 km to the river Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed. Farther south lie the great names of white Burgundy such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.

Product Details
At the southern tip of the Côte Chalonnaise, these vineyards form an amphitheater on the slopes of 4 communes including Montagny-lès-Buxy. This 865-acre appellation, which boasts 512 acres of Premier Cru vineyards, is exclusively devoted to the production of Chardonnay.
It was the Romans who first planted vines in the region. From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, "Côte de Buxy" had a reputation and it is said they were the favorite wines of the monks at the Cluny abbey
Flattering nose featuring aromas of white-fleshed fruit and brioche, underscored by slight toasted notes. On the palate, this soft, round wine is balanced by pleasant mineral tautness that lends considerable freshness. Its long finish is fragrant and delectable.
Ideal as an aperitif, or you may enjoy this wine's delicateness alongside fine fish, seafood or poultry.
