Côte de Beaune

A key wine-producing district of Burgundy in the east of France.

The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25 km to the river Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed. Farther south lie the great names of white Burgundy such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.

The Domaine's Philosophy
All our interventions are guided by our concern to preserve our environment and to respect our terroir. We have inherited an exceptional terroir and we have a duty to pass it on in good health. We strive for our wines to be vibrant, to transpire the terroir from which they come.

Our Héritage cuvée comes from our oldest vines, planted between 1950 and 1960 on the Chapelle Vaupelteigne plateau. These 60 year old vines have created a deep root system, directly in contact with the limestone rock, which gives the wine a deep minerality. The small yields of the old vines also bring a lot of complexity to this cuvée. I really enjoyed this wine, recommended.
