Côte de Beaune
A key wine-producing district of Burgundy in the east of France.
The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25 km to the river Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed. Farther south lie the great names of white Burgundy such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet.

Critic tasting note: "some dustiness, a hint of herbs, bay leaf and vegetal notes with underlying red fruit, plum. The palate shows medium weight, a bit more flesh, sweet red fruit, rounded tannin, well built in a classic style, rather accessible with room for improvement." - 89/100, Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Producer tasting notes:"Dark, dense and concentrated in color, the wine is very floral from its approach, revealing an aromatic radiance of the most seductive and refreshing. The mouth is full with a virile character but made of a structure with very ripe and already very integrated tannins." - Chateau La Croix du Casse
